Rynobuilt’s Stunning 1970 Chevelle Featured in Modern Rodding

Lauren Maiman

The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is an icon of American muscle, and when Ryno Lieberman of Rynobuilt Rod and Custom took on a build for Zach Hightower, he brought this classic into the modern age while staying true to its roots. The result? A breathtaking, 900 HP powerhouse that’s turning heads everywhere, from SEMA 2023 to the pages of Modern Rodding.

A Muscle Car Reinvented

This Chevelle retains its vintage charm with original sheet metal, angular lines, and a bold PPG Cranberry Red finish accented with factory-style black stripes. But don’t let the classic exterior fool you—the car’s heart and soul are built for today’s demands.

Powered by a Don Hardy-built Dart 427 supercharged aluminum V8, this machine cranks out 900 horsepower and 940 lb-ft of torque. Mounted to a Roadster Shop SPEC Series chassis, the Chevelle handles as beautifully as it accelerates. Wilwood Superlite 6 Big Brake kits, Billet Specialties wheels, and a Quick Performance Ford 9-inch rear end complete the performance package.

Modern Comfort Meets Classic Style

Inside, this Chevelle seamlessly blends vintage aesthetics with contemporary luxury. New Vintage USA gauges, a Vintage Air A/C system, and a custom console from Rynobuilt showcase meticulous craftsmanship. Black leather and suede accents from Jeffrey Trujillo Interiors elevate the cabin, while MB Quart audio delivers premium sound.

The car’s sound and heat insulation? That’s where LizardSkin steps in. Rynobuilt applied LizardSkin Sound Control and Ceramic Insulation coatings throughout the Chevelle to reduce noise and keep the interior comfortable, even when the 900 HP engine is pushed to its limits.

A Showstopper Recognized

It’s no surprise that this incredible build has garnered attention across the automotive world. Featured in Modern Rodding, showcased at SEMA 2023, and seen at Goodguys events, this Chevelle represents the pinnacle of muscle car reinvention.

LizardSkin is proud to be a part of this project, providing innovative coatings that enhance comfort and performance in one of the most remarkable builds we’ve seen.
