Sound Deadening DIY Camper Van | EXPLORIST.Life Ford Transit Van Conversion Series

Lauren Maiman

EXPLORIST.life has done several fabulous videos on prep, application, and testing of LizardSkin heat insulation and sound deadening coatings as part of their Ford Transit Van Conversion series.  This video (the 8th in the series and first on LizardSkin specifically) documents sound deadening their DIY camper van. After watching the team spray-on the sound damping material, you will definitely want to check out their video testing LizardSkin’s Sound Control in their Ford Transit Van. The results are off the charts!

About LizardSkin Sound Deadening Coating for DIY Camper Van Conversions

LizardSkin Sound Control is a high-tech coating that stops the vibration of sound waves coming from a surface before they enter the air. LizardSkin Sound Control can be used with LizardSkin Ceramic Insulation; when used together, LizardSkin Sound Control must be applied first. Typical applications include firewalls, floor pans, transmission tunnels, doors, hoods, trunk lids, under headliners, inside fenders, panel van walls, and other areas that generate vibration and noise.

For maximum acoustic performance, coat the entire interior surface and the floor, inside and out. LizardSkin is completely water soluble, meaning it offers an easy cleanup with just soap and water. One gallon of LizardSkin Sound Control can cover 20-23 square feet at 0.040” (40 mils) thickness.

Sound Control is sold in a 1 gallon bucket or a 2 gallon bucket.
